Kenneth Hagin had a vision years ago where Jesus came and talked to him about ministry. Jesus said, "Some ministers I have called to the ministry live and die without getting into even the first phase of ministry I have for them." How sobering are those words?!
The idea of being called to the ministry and not even entering the first phase of what God has called you to do is an astounding and horrific thought. In the same vision, Jesus added that some ministers die prematurely because they are only living in God's permissive will! (This vision is recorded in Kenneth Hagin's book called I Believe in Visions).
And yet, Jesus warned Brother Hagin about it. In that warning, I've gathered some very helpful information that has helped to guide my ministry.
There are phases to ministry.
Jesus expects me to progress from one phase to the next.
My longevity in life and ministry depends on my obedience to God in every phase.
If you are in ministry or you know someone in ministry, I want you to bookmark this post. I believe it can be a rescue for all of us. God isn't playing games with anybody. He takes us and His plan for us very seriously. Perhaps as we are journeying through the holiday season, we should take some time to examine ourselves. Examine our motives. Examine our progress in life and ministry and just see if we are really in the will of God.
So many of us do just enough to salve our conscience, but not enough to actually please God. Let’s refocus and take the plan of God seriously enough to actually do it. I love you! Thank you for being my friend and my prayer partner!
In His Presence,
Marcus T
